Fort Myers, Fla. — (August 25, 2012) — Following its successful absolute auction of a private island in Southwest Florida, Fisher Auction Company has been approached by owners of islands from around the country who now recognize that an auction is a viable way to sell their piece of paradise. It seems there are no shortage of bidders whose goal is owning a private island in Florida.
Fisher Auction Company is preparing to host another online-only, absolute auction for a private island in the past two months September 17-20. Up for bid will be a one-plus acre island, also on the Caloosahatchee River, in Alva, Fla. near Fort Myers. The man-made island is currently zoned ag-2 (agriculture) which allows for a myriad of uses for a new owner.
The circular-shaped private island features 360 degree riverfront views, deep-water access to both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean via the Caloosahatchee River and qualifies for a rebuilding permit of a large boat dock on the north side of the island. The island has a great location just west of the Franklin Locks near Fort Myers.
The absolute auction, which means the island will be sold to the highest bidder with no reserve, will be held online starting Monday, September 17 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, September 20 at 2 p.m. To register and for instructions on how to participate in the auction, visit www.fisherauction.com or call 800.331.6620. Bidders must be pre-qualified.
“It appears a trend has started with the use of our auction marketing system to sell islands,” said Lamar Fisher, President and CEO of Fisher Auction Company. “When considering the views, deepwater access and rebuilding permit for a large dock, this particular property is also sure to draw significant attention from prospective buyers from around the country.”
